Hari Raya & Deepavalli

Musang notes that the Raya & Deepavalli Festival was celebrated in a low key fashion this year in Malaysia. Obviously, the increasing cost of living & slowing economy is hitting the pockets of ordinary Malaysians very hard indeed.
Musang remembers the good old days when Musang had dozens of invitations to celebrate Raya & Deepavalli at the "Open Houses" of friends & neighbours. These days it seems that only Politicians & the Royals have "Open Houses".
Musang is saddened to note that the grand Malaysian tradition of "Open House" is very much on the endangered list just like us poor musangs.
